Price: about £20.00
Tutankhamun was Egypt’s most famous boy king and at the age of nine he came to power after his fathers death. His rule of Egypt however was short lived and unexpectedly came to an end at the age of 19 years of age.
I went to the Tutankhamun Exhibition on Sunday evening, after booking online and collected the tickets from O2's box office of which was very fast and efficient. We paid for one audio experience with the tour which I would highly recommend for each person as it provides a very good accompaniment to the tour.
The exhibition lasts for about 60 - 90 minutes but there is no maximum limit for your stay in the museum as long as you leave before closing time which is at 10pm on a Sunday.
The exhibit contains artefacts from Tutankhamun's period in Egypt as well as his ancestors around that time. There were no mummies on display and only a few artefacts found from inside his tomb a lot of the artefacts were relative to the time and situation though.
There was a lot of useful and interesting information from their most recent findings which included new CT scans which was accompanied by on screen videos and news reports about the boy king. Even his dental record information was available.
Overall it was a fun evening out and I learnt a lot and enjoyed the experience, the exhibition was well done with good use of lighting and imagery. I did feel it was slightly over priced though for number and type of artefacts on display, especially as no photography was allowed inside.
Value for Money: 6/10
Enjoyment: 8/10
